Does my name need to be spelt the same on the documents?

All the documents you submit need to be in your correct legal name. These documents would need to match the name on the application.

If your documents show different names, we cannot use those to confirm your identity. If we do, the DBS could withdraw your application. The council may even refuse to licence you when you present them with the certificate.

There are some exceptions. People who have legally changed their name by deed poll, through marriage or for transgender applicants. If this applies to you, please get in touch via [email protected] before you send your documents. We will need to advise you, specifically on your situation.
